What Thrives Unattended
Neglect is fertile ground,
but what thrives unattended
is rarely what we planted.

Every unanswered question
hardens into certainty
if you leave it alone long enough.

Doubt grows roots
when no one disturbs the soil,
and most of what we call closure
is just overgrowth.

After a while,
I couldn't remember
which parts were fact
and which parts
had simply survived the season.

The absence looked deliberate.
Even empty rows
begin to resemble a plan.
